Lesson 3 has us completing a practice that ties into the first two.

Lesson 3

I do not understand anything I see in this room [on this street, from this window, in this place]. (ACIM, W-3)

Much like the first two, we are to apply this principle indiscriminately. The point of this exercise is to help us clear our past associations with people, objects, and places. This will help us see everything anew and exactly as they appear to us now.

Practice this exercise twice a day, for one minute each.

A Return to Reality

I completed my lessons today, but I was feeling kind of funky. The holidays are officially over, the kids are going back to school, and I’m going back to work. Generally, this low feeling will carry on over the next two months. My hope is that with my ACIM exercises, meditation, journaling, and affirmations, I will see some improvement in my mood.

I was listening to a podcast today that was talking about burnout. When they started describing some of the signs of burnout (difficulty getting out of bed, quicker to anger or frustration, inability to focus), I found myself identifying some of my behaviors over the last few months.

Having these days off from work has allowed me to reset and re-examine my behaviors. The podcast talked about how we often are within our masculine energy (or grind mode). Masculine energy is all about action and achieving. That resonated with me. I constantly feel as if I am on the go, and I need to hustle to “get things done.” If I reflect back, I think I’ve lived most of my life within my masculine energy.

Recently, I have been curious about the idea of staying in my feminine energy more often. Feminine energy is characterized by creativity, intuition, and being as opposed to doing. To be honest, I am not even sure how to begin to embrace this side of myself.

Feminine vs. Masculine Energies

My goal this week is to research feminine energy and practice ways to get into the flow. I’ll write a separate blog post on this and let you know how it goes.

Until then, keep breathing.
